What do Knee Wraps do?
Bottom line is knee wraps help you squat more weight. They help by giving you more rebound in the hole (the bottom of your squat). Do to the nature of knee wraps (i.e they are very tight) a lot of elastic energy is stored and then released when you drive back up giving you a bigger faster squat. They also actively resist flexion at the knee joint, they are almost forcing your leg straight and helping to push the weight back up. There are a number of studies to show that knee wraps will most definitely help you squat more and give you a greater mechanical advantage.
What length of Wraps do I need?
Our Knee Wraps come in different lengths, but which length do you need? They come in 2m, 2.5m and 3m wraps. The longer the wraps the more revolutions and the tighter you can get the wrap. This will give you the maximum compression and thus will give you the best performance. However, that does not mean you should go out and buy the longest hardest wrap in our range. In order to get the most out of the wrap you need to know what you are doing and actually be lifting some pretty big weights. We would always recommend that a beginner start with a shorter softer wrap as they are easy to work with and they don’t hurt as much. However, that is not the only thing to think about when buying a wrap.
Which Knee Wraps do I need?
The 3 main things to think about when buying our Knee Wraps:
- Your squatting style, are you slow or fast? Do you have a wide or narrow stance?
- How much rebound Vs stopping power you need.
- How experienced you are with Knee Wraps.
