Which Belt Should I Get?

October 21, 2020

Recently we launched 2 new belts. Our 7mm Neoprene Back Support and our 8mm Nylon Training Belt have been added to our extensive range. However with so many belts which is the right belt for you? Well here is a rundown on our belts to help you pick!

13mm & 10mm Lever Belts

The Lever Belt has become very popular amongst strength trainers due to its unique closing system which allows you to mechanically tighten the belt. This means that you can tighten the belt to its maximum tightness and release it with the minimum of effort - making it very quick, easy and safe to use. The lever also allows you to make the belt tighter that any of the other belts we have. This makes it the perfect choice for maximum lifts and is very popular amounts powerlifters and strongmen/women.

The difference between the 13mm and the 10mm is slight, however it can make a big difference to the comfort and support of the individual. The 10mm breaks in a little fast and has a bit more give. In general most people find the 10mm the most comfortable. However the 13mm gives the most support and gives a very firm tight fit keeping you locked in place.

The only downside to this belt is it isn't very adjustable. You need to unscrew the lever if you wish to change the sizes of the belt.

13mm & 10mm Prong Belt

Single Prong is the classic lifting belt and has long been a favourite amongst experienced lifters. It has a very simple yet effective design that has not changed over the years. Very easy to use, durable and the main benefit is that this belt can be easily adjusted to your desired tightness for any given exercise e.g. most lifters like different levels of support for squats and deadlifts. Also various Strongman events most definitely require different levels of belt tightness. These are the best all around belts and great if you are new to lifting belts.

The difference between the 13mm and the 10mm is slight, however it can make a big difference to the comfort and support of the individual. The 10mm breaks in a little faster and has a bit more give. In general most people find the 10mm the most comfortable. However the 13mm gives the most support and gives a very firm, tight fit keeping you locked in place.

Triple-Ply Deadlift Belt

This is a specialist belt, as the name suggests this belt is designed for deadlifting. Some people find it very uncomfortable to get into the correct position to deadlift in a standard 4" wide belt. However the Triple Ply Deadlift belt is made from 3 layers of durable lightweight webbing which can flex and move so you can get in the right position. However the 3 layers of Nylon webbing is still rigid enough and strong enough to give you solid support when lifting big weights. The flexibility of this belt also makes it excellent for moving/loading events such as Atlas Stones because it does not limit your range of movement. Also great for Log as there is no buckle in the way which makes these belts a great choice for Strongman events!

Although it has a velcro closing system it has a dual ring locking system for extra strength so you can rely on this belt to support you when it counts. There is no way this belt will pop off if you use the rings to lock it down. They are easy to use and very comfortable.

7mm Neoprene Back Support Belt

This belt is the strongman/woman's favourite belt. It has been designed to provide warmth, support and stability. This is a fantastic all-round belt with elastic Velcro straps for a snug fit and skeletal splints to maximise athletic performance as well as relieving pressure on your back which can ease back pain.
Thicker than others on the market, our 7mm neoprene belt has been specifically designed for Strongmen and Strongwomen. Our superior neoprene blend is durable yet gives the perfect stretch to give an ergonomic fit. Our top quality Velcro locks this belt in place, no popping off or slipping! We have also added additional skeletal splints to make this the most supportive and stable belt on the market.
It can be used as a standalone belt for moving and loading events as it gives good support without restriction of movement. So, bending over to pick up sandbags or stones is comfortable. It can also be used as an under-belt in conjunction with your lever belt, prong belt or deadlift belt to keep your core locked in place for heavy events like yoke, log press as well as exercises like heavy squats and deadlifts.

8mm Nylon Lifting Belt

This is the lightest of our belts and makes a great general support belt belt for all types of training. 5 inches wide all the way round and 8mm thick with a comfortable, supportive foam core, polypropylene webbing and low profile torque ring closure system. The secure Velcro fastening system allows for easy adjustments and quick on/release during workouts.
It can be used as a standalone belt for Olympic Lifts, Squats, Deadlifts or Moving and Loading Events as it gives great support, is low profile and is very comfortable. Also, it is very easy and quick to adjust to your desired tightness - this makes it great for medleys with different movements and events. It can also be used over a neoprene under-belt to give you warmth, stabilization and compression all together. Easy to use and very comfortable training belt.
